What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in your business?

We really haven’t had any big ones. Not a huge obstacle but we pivoted to help design and produce online events when COVID struck.

What makes your company unique?

We’re very hands on and connect exceptionally well with the clients we work with. We do what it takes to create great campaigns and events.

What is a tip for success that you would provide someone in your same industry?

Everything starts with being a mindful leader. That means taking the time to really listen to others, be deliberate and customize our services to their unique brand.

The Biggest change in marketing that I see coming in the next 3 years is?

With events, things are becoming increasingly digital – so ensuring strong communication is possible despite this. With media buying – there is so much noise in the market so authenticity – meaning you’re living not just talking your mission, will be increasingly important. I’m not sure many brands understand just how much this really matters.

How did you get started in this business?

I spent a lot of my career in startups and spent some time in agencies as well. I was always around marketing but mostly in marketing roles and I’ve always been an entrepreneur. That’s what drew me to work with startups. There came a point in time when I just wanted more control of my schedule and more flexibility and more opportunity to do the things that I wanted to do. So seven years ago I went out on my own and I started my own business and through the power of referrals, and just having a lot of folks who are in the startup industry, there was a lot of demand for my services which was great. Then earlier last year I started to brand my services to be honed in on two key areas of focus. One being engaging events and the other being digital advertising or recruiting.

How has COVID affected you?

I think everyone is just trying to figure out how to keep their business afloat and what to do now that we’re isolated and we don’t have the opportunity to do things like get together. One of the key things that I’ve learned and I try to share with other people is that we still need connection. We’re in the process of doing day of creating online events for our clients and everyone just really at this time needs to be nimble and figure out how to pivot and take their core skill sets and apply them to help other people.
