Tell us a little bit about your company and how you got started.
We actually changed our name about three years ago. We’ve been in business for 20 years. We started out as a traditional creative shop doing television commercials, infomercials, was really how we got our start. And then just over the years as television has changed and as more people have shifted to watching online and specifically as people have kind of gotten more used to much shorter attention spans and more engaging content to be able to get their attention, about three years ago, we changed our main brand name to Funnysalesvideos. And I’ve seen big changes in the results that we get from these kinds of videos compared to some of the more traditional corporate work that we’ve done over the past 20 years.
What types of clients are the ideal customer for you guys to serve?
Funnily enough, it’s kind of similar to the infomercial crowd. So back in the day when we produced infomercials, we would look for products that were almost ubiquitous among households. The bigger the audience, the better. However, lately, we’ve actually done a lot of B2B campaigns as well where people aren’t necessarily selling directly to the consumer but they’re using it to generate leads and targeted through different avenues like LinkedIn or business platforms. So really there’s kind of a mix. A lot of companies will call me and ask me that question and my answer has changed. Now I basically say if you have a customer that you know who they are, or maybe you don’t know you need our help to identify where they spend their time online, we can help you whether it’s generating sales or generating leads.
What’s the most exciting part of what you do? What drives you?
That’s a good question. So the most exciting part, by far, is when you worked on a campaign, and our campaigns they feel like birthing a child. It takes six plus months sometimes to go from completely knowing nothing about the client to doing the research, brainstorming concepts, scripting it out, putting the team together to produce it, actors, editing. Once it’s finished, it’s like we can breathe a sigh of relief when we finally release that and we see those views just start coming in, coming in, and coming in and then sales coming in and coming in. And then, my favorite part, is the comments that we get from our customers. That’s probably the most fun is just when people make comments like “I love this video! I don’t even know why I watched it but I stayed to the end. And I actually ended up buying it. I didn’t know that I wanted one of these.” So those kinds of comments or even something as simple as “this put a smile on my face.” Maybe they didn’t buy but they’ve watched the video; they’ve enjoyed it. We kind of like to talk about how we entertain our customers into buying our client’s products and that’s probably the most fun is just seeing people take a moment out of their day and enjoy the hard work that we’ve put into each campaign.
