What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in your business?
Without a doubt- Covid. NY was hit hard and we had to think quick for ourselves and our clients. We had to adapt. We had to restructure.
What makes your company unique?
Because our eye is always on the “end game,” we do what it takes to get there. We focus on the strengths of our team and invest in each other which directly supports our clients.
What is a tip for success that you would provide someone in your same industry?
Look at the big picture….not Just what’s right in front of you. By looking at the long term plan, you can set goals for everyone – so everyone benefits. Everyone grows. “Growth is never by mere chance; but the result of forces working together
What percent of your advertising service offerings does traditional media buying make up?
The Biggest change in marketing that I see coming in the next 3 years is?
Data and behavioral marketing to target the right message at the right time on the right device. I also think we will see AI dominance for marketing (among many things) like e-Commerce, content creation and product recommendations.
How did you get started?
I owned multiple businesses and was pretty good at sales and marketing. I started a digital media company and from that I had other people asking me to get involved and be a part of their business. Instead of taking on many partners, I decided to offer them a business brokering component which turned into combining my digital media and branding company with our business brokerage company and that formed the Mutual Growth Company. My clients and I grow together synergistically and we are balanced with our goals, keeping an end game in mind and we work backwards from there.
How has COVID affected your business?
My clients were scared at first; I think we all were, about business going down, especially my clients in the travel industry. What we saw was general fear in our clients so we transitioned very quickly, adapting to the environment and transitioning into a model that would still reach their ultimate goals. However transition with the pandemic or anything that has been thrown at us was difficult so we sat down with each of our clients. We offered complimentary services across the board until we adapted to the situation and drove revenue. We kept the end game in mind and we altered our plans in order to adjust with what was going on. That took a lot of work but ultimately we had a lot of happy clients because we kept the end game in mind and we reminded them every step of the way that this is temporary.
