About Airman to Mom LLC:
Amanda is a military spouse and veteran who served in the Air Force for six years as a Civil Engineer including a deployment to Afghanistan. She is the host and creator of the podcast, Women of the Military, sharing the stories of military women.
What excites you the most about your industry? What concerns you?
To be able to create a platform to share the stories of women. It empowers women who have served and helps inspire the next generation to serve.
Being overwhelmed. I have so many opportunities, so it is important to have good boundaries so I don’t let my passion overtake my life. I still need to be able to live my life while also building my business.
What is your greatest advice for women leaders in your field?
Jump…it isn’t that far. So many women I have talked to have thought about doing something like I am doing, but are too afraid to jump. I often have no idea what I’m doing and do it anyways. I always learn and adjust, but I never regret taking that jump to get started. Because it isn’t that far.
What’s the biggest mistake you see women make in advertising, PR and media?
Not caring about the community about they are building. Building relationships and gaining trust with your followers is so important.
Which women leaders do you most admire? Why?:
Kristen Smith, Blog Your Genius, because she has given me such great wisdom and the push I needed in the right direction. I also admire Jenna Kutcher, she is so open and honest with her followers, especially when she makes a mistake. There are also a number of military women that I have been inspired by.
