So tell us about some of the products and services that you offer at Well Life.
The products and services I offer with Well Life Health Coaching are personal training. I’m a trainer that actually comes to you, comes to your home office. I also offer virtual training, nutrition coaching, and then a full line of health and wellness products.
And so how has it been during COVID? Have you been doing everything mostly virtually?
So when COVID first hit, it was a little slow. Folks were instead of leaning into their fitness routine, kind of scaling back mostly. But as the COVID chronicles moved forward, I started picking up some virtual clients and now I have a good mix of both actually. So it’s a lot of fun.
So what do you see as the biggest mistakes women make in their fitness and health?
The biggest mistakes I feel like women make, I’ll be really honest, is not taking the time for themselves. Carving out that 30 minutes to an hour a day means that you’re gonna have to put something else on the backburner, right? And if you’re a mom or a wife or you’re taking care of other people, it’s hard to find that time to pour into you. And if you do, you feel like I should be doing something else. But really I just love to talk to people about pour into yourself. Take the time to do that so that you can pour into other people. Take care of you. That would be one of the biggest mistakes I see women making.
So what kinds of fitness routines are you finding that people are enjoying the most?
Well honestly, Snowden, it’s a mix. A lot of folks that I work with have different goals. So some folks who have weight loss is a goal, they typically enjoy more of the high intensity type workouts, but I also find that a lot of folks what they want and what they need are two different things. So I believe in giving folks a little bit of what they want, a lot of what they need. Body balance being one of them. So I’ve recently incorporated pilates and I’m working on that certification, I’m almost wrapped up with that now, getting in some hours to finalize that. Pilates is a great modality for lengthening and strengthening the body. I mean the bottom line is our bodies need to just tap into different energy systems and every single body can use that slow steady cardio, strength training for our bones and our joints, and then the pilates and yoga and things like that that help you lengthen and strengthen those small muscles which are so important.
