Welcome back to Making a Difference on BluHorn TV, I’m Mike White. Joining me today is Heath Hill with Lime Media Group joining us from Dallas, Texas. A full service production event company. Welcome to the program.

Heath Hill

Thanks Mike.

Mike White

Tell me a little bit about how you got started in the business and what you enjoy most about it.

Heath Hill

Sure. Sure. We started in 05, we pivoted about a year and a half later. You know we really try to be a solution company for clients to their big ideas, their budget constraints or timing constraints. And what I really love about the business is that every day’s new and different. Everybody’s consistently trying to go to the next level and really up to game. We do that by repurposing existing assets and have a lot of fun in doing it. That’s for sure.

Mike White

You’re not just a typical marketing PR firm. You actually go in and activate with vehichles. Tell me more about that.

Heath Hill

Yes. So we own over a hundred assets, assets being containers, glass trucks, food trucks, buses, double decker buses, those kind of things and so we have about 20 fabricators so we’ll take it from basically idea and create that and then fabricate it and then activate it. So we’ve got staff that will actually secure venues and sponsorships and health permits and fees and then tour managers and brand ambassadors that will actually go extend the brand at events.

Mike White

What’s been the most rewarding client that you’ve worked with.

Heath Hill

We have a ministry we’re involved in that we ended up donating six trucks to and one of them we built out mobile baptism. The idea was basically to deploy these trucks to pass out the good news of Jesus through bottles and bracelets and that if they wanted to get baptized like could in the back of the truck. So that was pretty neat pretty different. They ended up baptizing a couple thousand people, we ended up donating one of the trucks and I think that’s in Florida right now. Just kind of moves all over the country and they use it.

So it seems like during the interview process when we people that go into marketing that interview for our marketing company you know everyone everyone wants to be an event planner for someone who wants to get into the industry what some advice that you’d have for them.

Heath Hill

You know I would intern as quickly as possible. You’re either cut out for this or you’re not. You’ll know pretty quick. You know we use this phrase around here, let’s keep a tent around the circus. We’re having to perform seven days a week events never do take a day off they never get rained out it’s never too cold and artwork always drags. So when you have artwork and creative that drags in the event time never changes it always creates some opportunities and challenges. And you either will rise up or you will crumble. So I would just challenge you to try to get in the spaces as quick as possible and just start working your way up and in event space. You know even as an intern you find yourself in a real critical opportunity just because of the nature of the business. It’s constantly moving and pivoting and changing and sometimes it’s all hands on deck.

Mike White

And you guys specialize in quick turnaround so a project that then you can have them up ready and activated within a four week timeframe?

Heath Hill

Yeah four weeks, that is ideal. We produced 10 trucks for cricket a year ago in 5 days. So there’s all kinds of opportunities where we can do a quick turnaround sometimes and as quick as 48 hours. Obviously that cost a bunch of money to do something like that. But our sweet spot is four weeks.

Mike White
