Start over everyday. There is so much to changing minute that if you’re going to be of real value to your clients, you need to stay ahead of the curve. Do your research and do not be afraid to negotiate.
What is Kerigan Marketing?
We are a full service-marketing agency. We do everything from design to implementation of Web site development. We do graphic design, media placement, digital strategy and implementation of digital programming.
Tell me a little bit about as you’ve transitioned into a full service company and why.
The biggest benefit to that is that we have consistency in the branding and messaging strategy. Now we go into new clients and one of the first things that we do is ask them to bring us every piece of marketing material that they have. We lay it out and when we are looking at those videos, printed pieces, when we look at online campaigns it almost looks like a different company because different people have created those. We’re able to create a consistent brand message.
What is a piece of information or a lesson that you learned over the past 10 years that would have helped you in your life or your career?
Well I believe my career has evolved slightly. I was not always in media, but I have always been in purchasing and negotiations. Now, being a member of a company I’ve learned that it’s more about the story that you tell, you want to make people feel and understand, get them to make those emotional decisions that are also smart decisions for them. That’s what I wish I had done a long time ago. It’s not as black and white as the spreadsheet said it was.
