About Obedient:

Obedient is funnier than you. A humor branding agency—the first of its kind—Obedient turns businesses into Humor Brands: unstoppable, unorthodox, unforgettable machines. Ever met a creative agency with a hip tattoo that reads, ‘standing out isn’t a matter of taste, it’s a matter of survival’? Well, you have now. Rooted in the power of fun and the potency of humor, OA launches brands and campaigns that hook consumers in…and keep them coming back for more. And yeah, they do it all: strategy, messaging, and design—online, offline, crossing the line, you name it. Speaking of names, they’d never name-drop that they’ve worked with heavy hitters like Chick-fil-A, Argent, Parachute, and Alleyoop. At the end of the day, every evil genius on the Obedient team lives to prove that you don’t need to prey on the fears of your consumers to make the kill. Instead? Excite them to death. RIP, your sad sales and long live fun

Who in the industry inspires you and why?

Female comedians. They are smart, hilarious, wordsmiths. They take the mundane, observations of life and twist them into something surprising and delightful.

What makes your company unique?

We are the only branding agency on the planet—as far as we know—that specializes in fun and humor.

If you were to restart your marketing agency, what are the 2 most important positions you would hire for and why?

Design Director—we didn’t launch design services til about 1.5 years in, and it’s crucial to the development of engaging, memorable brands. Also, offering design, ensures our copy visually lands.
Special Projects Director who helps us launch all our wild, Obedient-centric projects out into the world. They were taking a back burner to client work before.

How do you define success?

I wake up excited about the work I do, why I do it, and who I do it with. I mean, I get to create and laugh for a living, which is definitely my dream realized.
